Message from Prof. Hector Tsang

On behalf of Department of Rehabilitation Sciences of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, I am pleased to invite you to join our 11th Pan Pacific Conference on Rehabilitation (PPCR) which to be held at our university campus between 17 and 18 November 2018. The PPCR was inaugurated in 1998 in Guangzhou and has since become an iconic biannual event for our department. This year PPCR fosters multi-disciplinary collaborations among rehabilitation professionals, academics, students and healthcare administrators in the Asia Pacific region and beyond.

In view of the rapidly increasing demand of healthcare service, there are a lot of advancements in medical research and technology, which are bounded to positively influence our clinical practice. Hence, this coming PPCR is focused on “Advances in Research & Practice” and it will provide a comprehensive platform for knowledge exchange in the full range of rehabilitation topics. In planning for the program, the organizing committee has invited six distinguished speakers and the other eminent scientists to share their work at the conference. Through this conference, we would like to engage with all of you in an open and constructive dialogue about recent breakthroughs in clinical science. There will also be pre- and post-conference workshops catering for the special topics of interest and clinical skills of the participants.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the 11th PPCR and hope that this event will serve as a catalyst for strengthening international cooperation on the special topics of interest and clinical skills of the participants. Your strong support and active participation will make the PPCR2018 a record-breaking event.

Message form Dr Roy T.H. Cheung

A very warm welcome to all participants in this 11th Pan-Pacific Conference on Rehabilitation and the focus this year is Advances in Research and Practice.

Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, as Hong Kong’s only university to provide physiotherapy and occupational therapy training, is committed to become a world leader in education and research in rehabilitation sciences. In the past decades we witness a lot of rehabilitation advances in both basic science and clinical research. The six featured international keynote and short course speakers have been especially chosen for their in-depth knowledge and experience across a wide range of specialty. We expect a diversified knowledge sharing, ideas exchange, discussions, and hopefully sparkling of some new ideas that can be used to improve our patient care and prevent injury or non-communicable diseases.

Please mark your calendars for the PPCR2018 and we look forward to welcoming everyone to Hong Kong!
